John, congrats! I guess I am supportive of the technology and how it is being used, mostly because I have nothing to hide from any law enforcement agency (so far <g>). I wonder how it must feel to be buzzing around with a patrol car equipped with that unit and hearing the system firing off an audio alert with nearly every car on the road that is being scanned. Heh-heh.
The reason that comes to mind is because the other year while being "interrogated" during a jury selection process all potential jurors had to disclose any past criminal convictions, other than parking violations. I was pretty surprised by the number of folks that looked perfectly normal otherwise that stated their past misdeeds. A lot of aggravated assault and battery convictions, some forgery, some burglary. I was not selected to serve on the jury, I suppose because I had no convictions other than traffic tickets. I did not represent a group of peers I guess, as I had no serious convictions <g>.
