Most likely. I was sitting on a Windows Live SouthernDevs group, and the
adverts were rolling and changing. Avast popped up yelling at me that 3
different virus' were attempting to attack me. 

The AD servers are deemed less of a threat and are neglected by the
administrators apparently, so they get hacked. They roll out to hundreds of
websites, so more coverage from 1 hack than individually attacking sites.
