Ed, If you are you agreeing with me, thanks. I went into somewhat more detail a month ago or so about this same thing. One cannot look at a small spot on the planet and claim that its temperature defines the total planet temperature. Also the amount of water in the ocean far surpasses the amount of land both in heat capacity and mass. So the oceans are really the controlling factor in global temperature.
