OK, so, go from "yes it was very warm in many parts of the world, and very cold in others" to "therefore we need to tax the hell out of ourselves and give unaccountable bureaucrats total control over our economy" as the solution. I'd really like to hear the explanation of how the proposed carbon credit regime promises to reverse these observable changes in the climate. And let's not forget also to observe the established fact that on the whole since 1998 the *global* warming trend has been mostly flat. Hence, "hide the decline" and other spectacles of wishcasting and taxpayer funded doomsday prophecies. - Publius -- "It ought never to be forgotten, that a firm union of this country, under an efficient government, will probably be an increasing object of jealousy to more than one nation of Europe; and that enterprises to subvert it will sometimes originate in the intrigues of foreign powers, and will seldom fail to be patronized and abetted by some of them. Its preservation, therefore ought in no case that can be avoided, to be committed to the guardianship of any but those whose situation will uniformly beget an immediate interest in the faithful and vigilant performance of the trust."
