||10% of people do the work and 90% benefit.|| I don't know why you think this is in any way unique to the software community. I have spent my life in church and 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people. This doesn't meant that the 80% are freeloaders because many of them are the '20%' in other community organisations. It is just a truism that even in paid employment a few do the work of most. It is just life and even more so in volunteer work.

I don't recall any help being solicited from the community. Now I don't frequent anything like all the sites and forums around VFP, only a couple in fact, and I don't get a chance to attend conferences, so I'm not saying that help was not sought, just that I completely missed it if it was.<< Craig talks about it a lot at Southwest Fox. This is where Steve Ellenoff talked with him last October. Yes, I know everyone cannot make it to all conferences so this is a problem. It is a simple thing to solve and that is to simply blog about the struggles and get it posted on the VFPStudio site. The request from help is usually made when people inquiry about availability or where the project is. This is when the developers get the cold shoulder, which is sad because it proves the community is more of a user than a contributor. No doubt I can analyze the statistics and map it to just about any volunteer organization. 10% of people do the work and 90% benefit. Again, this is probably more of a PR problem than a technical problem at the moment. Maybe I should re-volunteer to head up Marketing and Testing for VFP Studio.
