>> Here's where I'm unclear - all I remember is the screencasts on SPS
Weblog, a bunch of comments under that, the appearance of vfpstudio.com, and
then the whole thing going dark in 2008. I don't recall any help being
solicited from the community. Now I don't frequent anything like all the
sites and forums around VFP, only a couple in fact, and I don't get a chance
to attend conferences, so I'm not saying that help was not sought, just that
I completely missed it if it was.<<

Craig talks about it a lot at Southwest Fox. This is where Steve Ellenoff
talked with him last October. Yes, I know everyone cannot make it to all
conferences so this is a problem. It is a simple thing to solve and that is
to simply blog about the struggles and get it posted on the VFPStudio site.

The request from help is usually made when people inquiry about availability
or where the project is. This is when the developers get the cold shoulder,
which is sad because it proves the community is more of a user than a
contributor. No doubt I can analyze the statistics and map it to just about
any volunteer organization. 10% of people do the work and 90% benefit.

Again, this is probably more of a PR problem than a technical problem at the
moment. Maybe I should re-volunteer to head up Marketing and Testing for VFP
Studio.
