Lookig at your sample I would probably go with top-10 where everythig else
is 'other' 
So you get prefixed number of slices making it easy to fix the chart.
Other then that you can make percentage/number 'census' for group getting
it's piece own 
piece of pie. Number of slices in this case varies.

I don't want to have a zillion little crap categories; rather, I'd like to
just wrap them up into a category called "Other".  What's the mathematical
approach for determining the cutoff and then saying "You remaining
categories are "Other" ???
