Split all the words into a temporary cursor, where the word itself is one field and the trailing whitespace is another. REPLACE ALL word with "*" where word = "SES". Then iterate the cursor to rebuild the string.

If not, you could shell out to Python which has it built-in, and it would even be a quite short 1-liner.
