Stephen - I also had the same dilemma! I came up with a trick. I wanted to swap
certain albums out - and only include others. So, I went and ZIPPED down the
Albums on my HD that I didn't want on the IPod (I have a Nano). And, then it
could Not find the song when it was doing updates - and I think there was then
some automatic way have it remove the references based upon the songs no longer
available.

Content manipulation sucks.

I have 300 + gig of music that I would like rotate on and off the
device. For me I want to move a concert by an artist entirely off
the device. Why do I have to click on 10-30 individual songs? Artist
is Band Name and Venue is the Album.

Podcasts are worse. What a nightmare to delete them after you listen
and have them reappear when you charge it? That is just dumber then
M$ way of doing most things.

I thought Apple had the interface down and was so modern and wonderful.

iTunes is just a dog that should be put down.

YMMV
