Rafael, As Mike has already said, use the SPT (SQL Pass Through) to enquire/update the db tables, you can then use VFP cursors to manipulate the data easily and set the cursor to be updateable so that if required any updates are written back to the main datastore. Also you can do ANY SQL function/procedure that is required on the main database in terms of moving, deleting dropping, modifying the tables etc.
In addition almost 100% of the code will be cross platform compatible between MSSQL and MySQL if you write the classes correctly. I wonder if any of you can help with examples of code to use ADO with VFP. I'd like an example for retrieving data from a SQL database, ie: select * from customers where custid = ?nCustId and one on how to send update information, such as: update customers set lastname = 'Smith' where custid = ?nCustId How to create the ADO object, the connection, the recordset, etc. TIA Rafael Copquin --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html --- [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
