Hi Malcolm
Same thing in Spanish.
Should note that people's origins (American, Spanish, British, French) 
are not capitalized. Languages are not capitalized.

Similar thing in Spanish. We have a familiar "you" ("tu") and a formal 
"you" ("usted") but neither needs be capitalized.
