Ted, At the risk of sounding like a broken record, you might encourage your customer to consider a hosted email service like Fastmail which is now owned by Opera (of browser fame). Fastmail has wonderful spam protection with lots of options. The service has a great web client and works equally as well with desktop client software like Outlook or Thunderbird. An additional benefit is their online community which is quite helpful sorting out the many options of this service.
