I have an "all in one" HP printer. I could not get the scanner or the sd slots to work under XP. I kept getting a "usb unplugged" even though I could print. I went to update the software with the latest revision and it said I had to update the software in order to update the software!!! When I moved over to Ubuntu everything worked! No software, no tweeking, no nothing. Just worked.
