iPads and all the other tablets are not really eReaders. Absolutely 
different species.
eReaders will last 2 weeks (7000 pages turned) without needing a battery 
charge, iPad won't last more than a few hours. eReaders use eInk which 
means that your eyes won't get sore (as sore as with a good book) and 
that you can read it in day light. OTOH you need some external light to 
read, just like a book.
