Thanks for all the replies I have to go away to a conference for 3 days
so to get my client so they can do testing I have install everything
into the apps folder.
I will revisit this problem next week. In the mean time you have given
me something to think about. Tracy's last comments in particular as my
reasons were just to keep them a bit further from prying eyes.
Won't have time to do any work till I get back but will still keep in
touch via myBlackberry.

Cheers

Peter

Mike,

Because applications find duplicates, they are not in the PATH and
delete them to "clean up" disk space. Which causes problems.
Because it's not the Microsoft suggested way.
Because if you have vfp9r.dll sp2 in your folder, and someone installs
vfp9renu.dll rtm in the path, you could get a "resource file version
mismatch" error.
