Steve, With apologies to Ted Roche (for gushing like a little school girl), I strongly recommend paying a modest fee for a professionally managed email service. I've had great success with www.fastmail.fm (enhanced account). Fastmail is now owned by Opera (the browser people). Rackspace has pay-for email hosting options as well.
