Soory
bit out of touch a lot here in the bush. well nearly bush.
the ocx was places in windows/system32 and had to use cmd.exe run as
administrator to get the ocx to register. however even though it was
registered ok, the vfp app, which was installed using the installer that
comes with vfp in program files, would not see anything. including the
richtext control I use which was on already .
The app runs fine if started using run as administrator but if you set it in
properties to run as administrator it wants to log in. windows 7 does not
make sense at all on that score. Yet another machine the same runs ok.
except the users have to be given administrators permissions. Im sure its
the setup, maybe policies, but its not easy to find out at a distance.
