The Digital Elements appears to be just a drive without the extra software and a little larger case. I wouldn't mind knowing the difference as well. At that price it is worth a look, I could use a large drive to store backups on and there is a Frys not too far from my office. They have the Digital Elements 2GB on sale this week for $87 (In-store only).
