Hi Al, It tends to be a problem with older languages. If possible I recommend adding the facility to change the CPU affinity. I was bitten by this recently. A site was using terminal services and thin clients to run my app. The server had 4 cores, however my app was running on CPU zero for all (20?) users! This wasn't VFP, but I'm sure the same problem applies. I'm seeing more and more of these terminal services + thin client installations, often on a virtual server (eek!) I'm sure it makes life easier for the administrator, but it makes my life harder, especially when it comes to things like COM ports (e.g. credit card hardware & receipt printers). -- Paul _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
