If your link says microbes are something, it doesn't exclude other things, like bears and wolves, for example, from being included in the same class of things. They didn't say what you think they said. So if microbes are the food chain, other things can still be higher than they are. Your gut is full of bacteria, but your gut bacteria doesn't eat you. Viruses, don't eat at all. According to the first link, they may not even be living beings.
