Kent:
Back in the day when VHS/Beta was the video of choice they made a video grade
bulk eraser. Not the type that you may have used for a cassette tape but the
heavy duty video eraser.
If you can remove the cover to the drive and expose the platters to the bulk
eraser you will find it will erase everything.
You may not need to remove the cover for this to work with a strong enough
magnetic field.
If the drive is SATA us can then hook it up to a USB to SATA adapter and check
it.
But a very strong magnetic field should do the trick.

Subject: [NF] Format laptop harddrive

Hello,

The hard drive in my laptop was failing so HP sent me another hard drive
under warranty.

They want me to send back the hard drive that was failing.

What is the best way for format or erase the drive before I send it back ?

Thanks,
Kent
