What I do is a HTTP Get of the web page. I then search that response for the text that you have specified.
For example, if you hit the page: http://cully.biz/test.html it returns a HTML page with the word 'Donuts' in it. If I receive a page back (404?) that does not contain the word 'Donuts', then I can assume the web site isn't working. Notice that I can hit a static page, or a dynamic page. I would not want to use the word 'Cully' to test the site, because if there was an error on that site, it is likely that the word 'Cully' might be in the error response, especially since it is part of the domain name. If you watch the video on the 'Learn' page, I step through how to configure the software. Let me know if you have any additional questions. -Kevin On Thu, 2011-03-17 at 10:39 -0500, Jarvis, Matthew wrote: > Would you be willing to tell us what it is you test or how you determine > if a site is really up? _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/1300379181.2206.46.camel@cullytech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
