Barracuda works very well... we (prior employ) looked at it back in 2006-ish and it was something like $2k plus a monthly subscription fee... others I know that have it rave about it. A buddy plugged one into his 200+ user network and forgot about it - said the thing was 'plug and play' practically... [fuzzy memory alert - proceed w/ caution] Barracuda got a bad rep when they would black flag something and the email they sent out would 'imply' that you needed to pay a fee of something like $50 to whitelist a domain... you don't - it just 'implied' it... [end fuzzy memory alert] I was once told that the machine uses the same SpamAssasin that you and I can get for free, but their team of 100 engineers or so do nothing all day but feed it new rules for dealing with spam, and it was very effective. Not sure what it does re: filtering network traffic and such...
