Give me a break. Who do you think is making fat profits from $4.00 gasoline? And why do you think it is fat profits anyway? Europe pays a heck of a lot higher for gas than we do and they are not complaining about fat profits. Just because you think prices are high doesn't make them obscene. It is called free market. The American people can switch to small cars like in Europe and solve the higher gas price problem. But no, people are still buying the bigger cars and trucks.
My guess is the ones making any profit are the commodities traders. Most oil companies hedge their bets by buying/selling oil contracts well into the future. Any immediate spike in gas prices does not accrue to them. Neither do gas station operators make a profit; they have to buy gas at higher wholesale prices. The state of Connecticut allows only a certain markup over wholesale so forget them. Truckers don't make any profit either plus their costs are going up. ----- Original Message ----- From: "MB Software Solutions, LLC" <[email protected]> To: "ProFox Email List" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, April 26, 2011 3:41 PM Subject: Re: [OT] Obama's America > On 4/26/2011 11:17 AM, Nicholas Geti wrote: >> I sure do get tired of hearing about fat cats.
