You can also use a weak antennae that doesn't push the signal to the street,
if you live on a couple of acres.

Just tried my hand at wifi cracking.

Using the BackTrack Linux distribution (boots from USB) & AirCrack I was
able to crack my neighbours wifi in about 15 minutes.
I was also able to capture a WPA authentication packet, which in theory is
crackable with a dictionary attack.

Tip of the day: If you're using WEP, don't!  If you're using WPA use a
*very* secure password!!!
