        Ask them if they want to remain subject to the whims of Microsoft 
marketing, which can (and has) dropped or deprecated the products people have 
depended on, like VFP, LINQ, Silverlight, etc., sometimes within months of 
promoting said technology as the way to go.

        That should be your first question to them before committing their 
business to a closed source, single-vendor solution. If they decide to accept 
such a lock-in, at least they'll be doing it with their eyes open.
