If it weren't for that conference, Dabo might not exist. One of the
evenings after dinner, Paul and I were talking about our mutual interest in
Python, and we both mentioned that it was too bad that we couldn't find
anything like VFP that was written in Python. We compared notes on some of the
projects we had explored and where they were lacking, and at some point I joked
"Well, if we can't find what we need, we'll have to write it ourselves!".
