As I previously mentioned - the laptop is actually kinda a Piece-O-Crap!

It has these lights ALL over it - the edge of the top, glowing logo on
outside of top, light around touch pad, all the Keys can light up - and
above the keyboard is a whole set of Lit stuff - like Audio, WiFi,
Bluetooth, etc. Generally speaking - I turn off all the lighting stuff
that I can - as it's a BIG Drain on the battery.

But - the lighting stuff above the Keyboard - for obvious reasons - it
stays on. However, cause the laptop sucks - there are Many times when
those lights above the keyboard don't work. So - I could not tell that
the WiFi thing was OFF - nor do I know How it got turned off. Actually -
the laptop is SO Flacky - that at times - the WiFi and/or the Bluetooth
will KEEP Going Off and On and Off - over and over again - during a
session of my using the laptop.

So - I think when I booted up on the train last night - I hit that WiFi
thing (its strange - its not even a button - its like a flat touch
sensor - with a lit logo) - and, it wasn't lit - but, upon hitting it -
now the WiFi turned back on again.

As such, as you can see - even though you mentioned checking the Basics
1st - like Lights being on - my laptop is so flacky - that even the
lights don't come on right at times - making it hard to confirm a
problem with the WiFi being off!

Oh well - all is well that ends well...
