Thank you to all that assisted me,
I got remote desktops enabled, editing the xserverrc "exec /usr/bin/X11/X
-dpi 100 $*"
and gdm.conf: "In the [XDMCP] section change "Enable=0" and
"HonorIndirect=0" to read: "Enable=1" and "HonorIndirect=1".

Kudos to Donald R. Spoon for that..

XWin32 was set up like:
xdcmp query the IP directly.

Xwin allows me to use gdm to log in to graphical desktop, exactly as though
I were on localhost :)

Also got vncserver working as well, fixed the 'cannot find fixed font' by
editing the /usr/X11/bin/vncserver file with this:
$cmd .= " -fp
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/";
it is about line 195 or so as installed as standard.

Having to log in via ssh to command shell, then starting the vncserver
manually. Using the viewer program to connect without any trouble.

Next thing I am trying to do is install IBM dbase2 from rpms from a RH6.2
server cd set.
Going to be _really_ fun...

Hehe, will need a bit more ram than 32mb in a celeron333 box to run multiple
graphical workspaces and a pilot database server

Anyway, thank you all for the help. It is nice to finally get a linux box
into an NT/hp-ux house :)
