hmm... karena penasaran. akhirnya.. buka2 quotation waktu beli license...
setelah liat2...
rupanya waktu itu beli "Visual Studio Pro 2005 English OLP NL" => dari
namanya ini harusnya OLP License... dan ingat... satu produk itu banyak
versinya.. jadi vs2005 pun banyak versi dan serial nya.. baik yang OLP,
maupun FPP... saya jg gak terlalu ngerti.. tapi waktu ditawarin vendor.. dah
coba tanya2 ke beberapa vendor.. dan tawarannya berbeda2.. rupanya
perbedaannya terutama ada beda di jenis produknya... walaupun sama2 windows
xp, vs 2005, atau apapun itu..
lalu ini chart downgrade yang saya dapat waktu itu (kalu OLP harusnya
berlaku downgrade) :

tambahan informasi... saya beli waktu itu vs2005 dengan tipe diatas...
dengan harga berkisar $500 (jadi sorry informasi sebelumnya agak
salah..bukan 3jt-an.. tapi 5jt-an..)
CR ada distributor resminya ya ?? ingat gak harganya berapa-an ??
karena waktu saya cari dulu... CR belum ada distributor resminya.. dan cari2
di internet.. harganya masih diatas 5jt....
untuk CAL.. nah itu benar sekali... setelah disebutkan begitu.. baru
inget... waktu itu client saya jg beli win server 2003 dengan harga dan CAL
yang kira2 sama dengan yang disebutkan..
kira2 begitu informasi yang bisa saya sharing...
mgkn boleh kalu ada informasi lagi...
soalnya benar kata mas Hendy.... itu vendor2 yang jual license pun pada gak
terlalu ngerti license mana yang benar...
contoh : ada yang bilang kalu dah beli licensenya.. gak perlu beli cd
software aslinya.. pake bajakan jg boleh.. tapi ada yang bilang harus beli
cd software aslinya (kalu gak salah harganya sekitar 250rb... padahal kalu
beli di mangga 2 kan cuma 15-20 rb.. huehehe)....
dan yang paling penting waktu itu saya nyari informasi MSDE (versi gratis
SQL Server 2000), semua vendor yang saya tanya gak tau.. sampe akhirnya saya
coba telp ke microsoft indo, diterima sama satu orang co (orang india)...
tapi akhirnya karena bingung terangin pake bahasa inggris.. huehehe..
akhirnya dilempar ke satu orang ce (sepertinya orang malaysia karena bisanya
ngomong melayu).... setelah tanya2... mereka pun gak tau apa itu MSDE dan
nyasarnya selalu ke MSDN...................................... kacau d...
cust service di microsoft sendiri aja kaga tau.........
ya akhirnya saya tetep pake MSDE sebagai versi gratisnya dengan mengacu ke
web download microsoft yang isinya kira2 kaya gini :

Kantor kebetulan beli VS 2005 dan juga VS 2008 yang versi
professional....Harganya berkisar 7 sampai 8 juta rupiah. Kebetulan
waktu saya terima ada copy nota. Makanya jadi ngerti.
Kalau Windows server... harganya sekitar $1200an (persisnya ngak ingat)
dapat free 5 CAL (Client Access License). Jadi masing-masing CPU yang
connect ke server harus punya CAL.... artinya udah dapat gratis untuk 5
CPU. CAL ini bukan Windows loh... Jadi masing-masing CPU itu harus ada
Windows Home / Pro. Kalau home satu LAN hanya bisa maksimal 10 CPU.
Kalau pro tidak ada pembatasan. Nah begitu CPU2 ini di connect ke
Windows Server mereka harus punya CAL. Satu CAL harganya sekitar $35.
Info ini saya dapat dari orang Microsoft Indonesia... krn mahal ngak
jadi pakai Windows Server... cukup workgroup saja..he, he
Untuk Crystal Report di Indonesia sudah ada distributor resmi... saya
pernah terima email mereka, mereka di Jakarta ... tapi lupa man !

Kalau ngak salah... saya pernah download atau registrasi CR standar
bawaan dari VS 2005 terus ngak lama dapat email tersebut... karena ngak
butuh rasanya ngak disimpan. Kalau kita udah buat program di VB 2005
misalnya terus kita ada pakai CR... maka untuk distribusi program itu
ngak perlu bayar runtime CR-nya lagi.
Hati2... untuk VB 6... Informasi ini : beli license vs2005 berlaku
downgrade ke vb6... sepertinya keliru... (kalau memang benar saya juga
sangat senang :)
Biasanya yang menjual produk Microsoft juga ngak seberapah mengerti.
Mircosoft punya beberapa kriteria license misalnya FPP, OEM dan OLP. VB
6 itu termasuk golongan FPP (Full Packet Product)... Untuk FPP tidak ada
istilah downgrade. Downgrade itu hanya ada di jenis OLP (Open License
Product)
Semoga informasi ini berguna... kalau mungkin ada informasi lain yang
lebih akurat... silahkan sharing...
