Thanks Ric! You forced me to be careful and retrace my steps (after 4 or 5 earlier tries). All is well now. I'm using Vista and I tried to indicate where I wanted to install during the process of installing J701. That is where I could only install jhs in Program Files.
I finally saw that I needed to change the location before beginning the installation. Now JAL is working just fine and I am updated. (I'm not always a careful reader, and also an impatient one.)
