I thank Bill Tanksley for the clear and detailed comnfirmation he provided that my original post to this thread did convey the message I intended. The rest of the discussion has been, in my opinion, mostly a waste of time.
I am also unsubscribing from J forums, which I have followed since around 2000. I do enjoy writing an expression or two in J at times, as I also enjoy using and learning many other languages. But, with time, my enthusiasm about J has somewhat lessened, for a number of reasons that there is no need to discuss now. The discussions in the J forums have often been a pleasure to read and a source of valuable information to me. But, as I do not consider myself a very competent J programmer, I myself cannot be a valuable contributor here. At times, I have felt the need to share something with this community, not always directly related to J but hopefully of interest to others anyway. In those rare occasions, however, my posts have been almost invariably attacked with importunate remarks from Raul Miller, whom I consider a rather skilled J coder but ignorant in most other respects of programming, and who has been persistent in trolling me this way since perhaps 2004. That is a long period. I never understood why he felt the urge to do so. Whenever I was foolish enough to allow myself to be drawn into post exchanges with R.M., those 'discussions' have been pointless, endless, tiresome, and, I guess, annoying everyone. I am sorry that I took part in them. Eventually, I have come to realize that the aversion of such experience has outgrown the pleasure of feeling myself a part of this community. This is my last post to the J forums. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
