All,

The J community might want to consider Google groups as a place to migrate
the J forum. Like the current mailing list, GG can provide a unique email
address for each major topic in the J community. Admins can make each group
"invite only", by user request and admin approval, or open to all.

Members can elect to recieve posts via email, get periodical email digests,
or eliminate emails entirely, and read and post to the forum through your
browser.

All posts are available online immediately after posting, and can be
searched by Google's excellent search technology.

Admins can remove objectionable posts, and ban unruly users.

GG is free, though a business version is available that has even more
membership and content controls.
