I got it now, mostly, I think. My previous problem was solved by Ian's **trashed** jwiki page http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/Trash/System/Beta/HelloWorld , which I sought earlier, but did not look in the trash.
One rough edge is the following. After I 1. Start J701 using the JHS IDE 2. Enter: load '~addons/ide/jhs/demo/jdemo.ijs' in a new jijx window in my browser 3. Open a new browser tab and enter the URL: http://127.0.0.1:65001/<http://127.0.0.1:65001/hello> canvasdemo I see an almost empty page with just the bold font *Canvas test* but no buttons. So I have to start over and edit the file in '~addons/ide/jhs/demo/jdemo.ijs' in my text editor to remove the NB.s in HBS. Then when I repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 above (after first exiting the JHS IDE), I no longer "... see just an almost empty page ..." after step 3, but one with a button labeled "rollem". Everything is going well except that when I click on the button, I am shown a browser alert "jevunload" and its OK button. After clicking the alert OK button, the browser page works fine. It would be nice if the browser alert could be cleaned away, if anyone has any suggestions. So, I mostly can follow the several steps to produce a canvas-based on my desktop computer's browser. The fact that so many steps are required, is disappointing, but acceptable. For now I can continue in my "discovery" mode to explore opengl es, thanks to all of your help. -- (B=) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
