sidebar: I'm a J emacs user (on Windows too). The various J modes seem to work well enough for me and offers some nice syntax highlighting and warnings. I will also run jconsole from emacs shell, instead of from a dos prompt to get some nicer key bindings. I have written a few scripts to paste into the comint buffer for some automation. I also wrote a org-mode babel plugin that's crude but works: https://github.com/joebo/org-babel-j
