As a teaching assistant at Swarthmore my brother-in-law led an APL study
group. He told me he was essentially reading the book (Gilman & Rose I
presume) a week ahead of the class. One of the exercises was to draw
Spirograph like pictures on a vector display, probably a Tektronix 4010.
