I got  a similar report and I suggested

LANG=  jqt

perhaps LANG=C  (upper case c) can also work.

what is you  locale?  I  tested  with  ru_RU.UTF-8 and it  works  normally
by just calling jqt because jqt itself set  numeric locale to C during
startup.
