I think Jd is not a good candidate for your requirement. Jd does NOT support transaction, ie. no commit/rollback.
sqlite is more suitable for you, it has a small footprint, fast, and is a regular sql database, and the most widely used database system. I think it can even be faster than Postgresql. Install and try addons/sqlite and documentation available in jwiki.
