I expect that this would be more of an "expert issue" than a "beginner issue". English words (and, natural language words, in general) tend to have a lot of definitions. Frequently used words tend to have more definitions than infrequently used words. So I expect that beginners are more going to be wanting relevant examples (though relevance will depend on their focus). I think that the contextually specific difference don't start bothering you until much later. That said, people who have done a lot of coding do tend to pick up allergies for various contextual ambiguities that they don't have a good algorithm for. This particularly plagues people who have had some training in parsing.
