Rejected. Way too much work for small gain, and compounded by the fact
that it would be the only control word ending in : .
And: when the debugging's over, how do you know to replace the : with .?
What I do is: debugging globals are assigned with
name =: value
Then it's easy to make the global change from ' =:' to '=.'
