Debugging something that has been zipped, shipped, and installed on another system can be tricky. At a minimum I suggest that you duplicate the problem on your system and report what you directly observe there. That is, unzip your package on your own system (similar to how you imagine your user did it) and then see what happens. Perhaps you can then make a bug report with more details.

The basic fact is that J and jpath do support blanks in names and as far as we know it works properly. There is a quirk in your distribution that has a problem and we will try to help you sort that out.

I'll try to be as explicit as possible.
I wrote a script for a sudoku solver and I keep track of grids to be solved. So I put all the data in a subdirectory called 'grilles'. To distribute my package I zipped the J stuff ( J.exe dll shortcut etc ) including the subdir 'grilles'. I mailed that to a friend who unzipped the package in something like 'c:\mes jeux'. Everything run fine except when he wants to access a grid stored in the subdir 'grilles'. In the script I use jpath to read or write to the subdir 'grilles' but I obtain only 'c:\mes' and consequently can't access those files. If we rename the 'c:\mes jeux' to c:\mesjeux' everything is fine...
Hope that helps.

Please give an explicit example of the problem you are having, so that
we can reproduce it. Something simple like: load J, enter sentence X,
get result Y, expect result Z.

The J system supports directories with blanks in the name. Any problems
in this area will be fixed.
