I switched my production applications to J6 months ago in February. It has worked fine for me, with a couple of problems along the way. I have found it worthwhile to keep a copy of the last working beta in case something goes wrong with the new one.
I think Jsoftware is close enough to the release that you could safely port your code to the beta.
