The install instructions seem to be correct. Is there a problem?

include first putting the zip file into a temp directory
(folder), but I did anyway. But then when I completed the
installation there were 2 j601 folders: 1 in the temp folder
(presumably the beta u) and 1 in the home directory
(presumably the old beta).
