Okay, I'm confused. I have

,----
| 9!:14 ''
| j601/2006-11-17/17:05
`----

Running the Package Manager tells me

,----
| Updating server catalog...
| Done.
| Installed addons are up to date, 5 addons are not yet installed.
| The core library is up to date.
`----

If "the path references for fftw and lapack are fixed now," then
shouldn't I see something to update? fftw is at version 1.1.1, and
lapack is at 1.1.0.

Accepting that perhaps my lapack lab may point to the wrong place until
6.0.2, when I'll get new labs (??), I tried the fftw lab.

Step 4 of 15 gives me

,----[ wdhandler ]
| error in: jijs_jctrl_fkey
|
| interface error: script
| 0!:0 y[4!:55<'y'
`----

in response to printing

,----
| load jpath '~addons\fftw\fftw.ijs'
`----

on the screen. That seems to confirm I have an old fftw lab.

To make it clear to me, is it a true statement that I should be able to
keep my JAL system up-to-date by running the Package Manager? Or is
there something I need to be editing or moving externally right now
until the JAL is more stable? What am I missing?

Thanks,

Bill
