Oleg,

Thanks. Here's the story.

I removed that directory using Emacs' dired. I double checked, and it's
gone.

Done. That wasn't obvious to me before, but it makes sense.

Done. I have 1.1.1 of fftw again.

I guess it's persistent. When I run the fftw lab, I get

,----
| load jpath '~addons\fftw\fftw.ijs'
| |interface error: script
| | 0!:0 y[4!:55<'y'
`----

I'm not sure what "persistent" means in this case, though.

FWIW, I looked to see if I had an old copy of the lab.

Here's the system folder with its math labs:

,----

It looks clean -- no fftw lab. Here's the fftw addon directory:

,----
| c:/Program Files/j601/addons/math/fftw:
| total 357 free 11924052
| drwxrwxrwx 2 Bill Harris root 0 Dec 15 00:30 .

| -rw-rw-rw- 1 Bill Harris root 20556 Dec 15 00:30 gpl.htm
| -rw-rw-rw- 1 Bill Harris root 329216 Nov 22 18:38 jfftw.dll
| -rw-rw-rw- 1 Bill Harris root 763 Dec 15 00:30 manifest.ijs

fftw.ijs contains the line

,----
| DLL=: '"',~'"',jpath '~addons\main\fftw\jfftw.dll'
`----

which looks awfully suspicious, as does

,----
| jpath '~addons\fftw'
`----

and

,----
| load jpath '~addons\fftw\fftw.ijs'
`----

in fftw.ijt. I added "\math" in the last two and changed "main" to
"math" in the first, and it seems to work.

Is that a problem with PackMan, with FFTW, or with something else
(including cockpit error on my part)? It seems easy to fix on the
source side (i.e., not by each of us as users). I'll check LAPACK later
to see if a similar problem is keeping it challenged.

Bill
