Yes, you could do this. You can also move any checked out (sub) hierarchy
around as you want. So this is how to get rid of extra levels:
cd $where_your_svn_stuff_lives
mv library xxx # make the name "library" available
mv xxx/branches/current library # pull up current as new top level dir
rm -r xxx # get rid of the rest
on Unix, or the corresponding intuitive mouse actions on Windows.
An "svn info" in library will show you that you are synced to "current".
(This and other info is registered in the (hidden) admininstrative ".svn"
subdirectory. It wanders along with any directory relocations.).
