I am an occasional user of J so maybe I am missing something here, but I can
not get some aspects of a multiplot to work. I have the following code in
j601:

load 'statfns'

load 'plot'

data=: ?5 50$100

xbar=: mean data

range=: (max data) - min data

pd 'reset'

pd 'multi 3 2,6'

pd 'backcolor 222 222 206'

pd 'framebackcolor white'

pd 'title Xbar/R Control Chart'

pd 'xgroup 0 '

pd 'ygroup 0 1 '

NB. pd (<'type line,marker;color blue;pensize 1'),.(<<xbar) ,:<<range

pd (<'type line'),.(<<xbar) ,:<<range

pd (<'type marker;color red;pensize 2'),.(<<xbar) ,:<<range

pd 'show'

The NB. line works but of the two separate plot lines after it only the
first one works. I have seen multiple plot commands to the same output work
in a regular plot but I can not get it to work in a multiplot. Now error is
indicated. The combined command like I have the in NB. line does not
satisfy what I ultimately need to do which is to plot different dots with
different colors and to plot other lines to represent thresholds going
across the graph..

Also, the backcolor and framebackcolor commands do not work as they do in a
regular plot.

Any thoughts on this behavior?
