Thanks, I was wondering about Package Manager. I read it should have been in j601 and yet I did not see it. Now I know why. I will have to get it and see if that makes a difference. I would like to know there was a definite reason the methods I tried at first did not work.

Actually I don't think this is the case. The version of the standard library that is contained in the Exe downloadable from Jsoftware is the version that was available when J601c was released in November 2006. The latest version (available using Package Manager or from http://www.jsoftware.com/jal/j601/library/ )is 6.01.031 and was built on 11 May 2007. One of the things I find most useful in the newer library is Package Manager. This is a GUI interface that enables you to install the various JAL addons available (http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/JAL/j601) and check for updates ... including updates of the system library. You have to do a manual download/install of the library the first time (just extract it to your \j601\system\ folder). But after that there will be a new command on the J "Run" menu called "Package Manager". Apparently the next version of J (6.02) will have the Package Manager available from the start. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm No virus found in this incoming message.
