.mp3 files are related to .wav files somewhat like the way .jpg files are related to .png files. A google search for "convert mp3 to wav" seems to turn up many possibilities, but I have not tested any of them and can not make any recommendations. Currently, J's support for audio playback is limited. We have windows specific support (media/wav in the j application library), but no support for a generic mechanism such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_DirectMedia_Layer However, if you feel like tackling such a project, and need help, just ask. Many of us can contribute even if we do not currently have the time or initiative to tackle the project ourselves.
