It's difficult to make web documents look right on the myriad of types of computers, operating systems and viewers. But at the same time it does not make people want to view the pages if they are required to load special software and fonts etc. just to view these documents. Many times just browsing around to see new things, when I ran into a page that didn't display well, I just closed the page and went on.
